Animate is an anime specialty chain with over seventy stores nationwide. Animate Ikebukuro is the chain's main store. All eight floors are packed with anime related products. Saying that you will find anything related to anime here, from books, character goods, to CDs, DVDs and software, is not an exaggeration. Check out the event hall on the 9th floor where anime related events regularly take place.

  • Prepare your wallet! If you love anime and manga, this is like Disneyland (without the attractions... just lots of shopping). They have almost everything imaginable! Some stuffs may be cheaper online, but if you just want to be overwhelmed with anime related goods, this is the place to go.

  • This is a massive 9 story manga book store. Each floor is dedicated to a certain type of manga: boys, girls, adult comics and so on. The shelves are simply packed with manga of all kinds and if you cannot find what you want here, then you might not find it anywhere.   • Not as big as compared to their Ikebukuro store, but still has a lot of anime/manga stuffs. Avoid weekends because it gets super crowded. All official merchandise, so no doujins (unless they're official). Prepare lots of money (I don't remember if they take cards).
