The Hikawa Maru was a state-of-the-art ship that entered service in 1930. At the time it was one of the most advanced ships in service. The liner was in service for 30 years, and crossed the Pacific 254 times.

Today, the Hikawa Maru has been converted into an attraction and museum. You can board the ship, admire the elegant interiors and stroll the deck.

The ship is part of the NYK Maritime Museum, and they offer combination tickets if you decide to visit both.

  • This is such a cool sight! You can go inside this boat and see for yourself what it was like to travel by sea long ago. If you are in the area you should definitely check it out. Kids can really have fun here too!
